Senior Living/Seniors Housing can be apprised of a multitude of specialties, business units, reimbursement models, and sizes. There are two main facets: investors/owners, and operators, which are mainly management companies. The investors/owners “hire” management companies to run their buildings. Management companies hire, term, and manage employees along with the overall aspects of day-to-day business.
Most of residential senior living is based in skilled nursing/post-acute care, assisted living, assisted living with memory care, independent living/active-adult communities. Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living / Memory Care have the greatest number of employees, and are at higher risk for injury for workers’ compensation claims, turnover, payroll needs, etc.
